Craps VII
October 1st, 2008There are several types of bets that can be made by gamblers playing a game of craps. One such significant form of wager used in the gameplay is the line bets. The shooter, that is, the player who rolls out the dice is given the choice to make either a pass line bet or a don’t pass line bet and all these wagers are based around the points of the game. Among the various types of line bets that come into play in a game of craps the pass odds bet, the don’t pass odds bet, the come bet and the don’t come bet are the most significant besides the win and the don’t win bets.
One of the most basic wagers in craps is the pass line bet. An alternative name for this kind of wager is the win bet. If on rolling the dice during the ‘come out roll’ stage of the game the number that is reached is either a 7 or an 11, the pass line bets are won. However, if the numbers reached is either 2, 3 or 12 the bet is immediately lost as these are the ‘craps’ rolls and the condition is said to be crapping out. If the shooter has rolled the dice to any other number, it establishes a point which can result in the pass line bet to win if the point is rolled out again before a 7. However after a point has been made, if the shooter rolls out a 7 before the point has been rolled gain, the situation is a 7 out and the pass line bet is lost. So it is evident that when the shooter is rolling the dice, his most beneficial numbers are the ‘natural’ rolls, that is, the 7 and the 11 where he wins the wager he made without further play whereas the most disadvantageous are the ‘craps’ rolls whereby his loss is immediate.
